The case was registered following a complaint by the varsity administration in writing, where it was alleged that an unidentified person indulged in act of 'public nudity' on the campus
Students from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Left-backed groups have filed complaints against each other.
Some students were injured in a clash between two groups in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here, said police on Friday.
While accusing each other of creating a ruckus in the meeting, both ABVP and the Left parties claimed that their members were injured.
A notice issued by Registrar, JawaharLal Nehru University reads: "The administration condemns these exclusivist tendencies on campus. Such incidents will not be tolerated as JNU belongs to all."
According to a senior police official, a scuffle took place in JNU between two sets of students on Thursday near Narmada Hostel, leaving two students injured during the incident.
The incident allegedly started between two groups of students while partying in the campus and took a wild turn over some minor issue.
