Students from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Left-backed groups have filed complaints against each other.
Some students were injured in a clash between two groups in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here, said police on Friday.
While accusing each other of creating a ruckus in the meeting, both ABVP and the Left parties claimed that their members were injured.
The development comes a day after a lower court in Delhi extended sedition-accused Sharjeel Imam's police remand by three days.
Imam's five days police custody ended today and he was produced at Delhi Patiala House Court's Chief Judicial Magistrate Purushottam Pathak's residence amid high security.
