Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced an initiative to strengthen technical and vocational education in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the national capital.
In this context, a state-level brainstorming session was organized on Friday, under the aegis of the Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Department of Technical Education.
Speaking at a Regional Conference of Skill Ministers in Chandigarh, he said, “Delhi’s upgraded ITIs will equip our youth with 21st-century competencies so that they graduate as job-creators, not just job-seekers.”
These employees are engaged on a contract basis in various ITIs of Delhi.
To upgrade the skill of the youth in accordance with the requirement of the Industry 4.0, the Uttar Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Association (MoA) of over Rs 5,000 crore with Tata Technologies to upgrade 150 ITIs in the state.
The government ordered on Sunday that students of 9 to 12 classes in the summer zone will attend offline teaching. Junior classes will begin on 21 February.
