The meeting aimed “for prevention, containment, and management of dengue in view of the onset of monsoon and the rise in dengue cases,” the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
Cho also renewed a pledge to accomplish medical reform, although a mass walkout by trainee doctors has crippled public health services at major hospitals for more than two months, Yonhap news agency reported.
"We intend to engage in sincere discussions with the medical community to persuade them and resolve the dispute," Cho told a government response meeting.
The South Korean government is open to talks with doctors if they come up with a unified and reasonable solution to resolve an impasse over a reform to hike the number of medical students, a senior official said on Tuesday.
He said that action has been taken as per rules against those firms whose samples have failed and some have also been blacklisted.
The Minister stressed that people should not panic and take requisite precautions to ward off the infection.
