After the incident came to light, the school management announced that they have terminated the teacher, named Shaik Aisha Parveen, for allegedly giving religious homework for Class 2 students.
“Your services as a Mother Teacher at Success The School, Sayeedabad branch are terminated with effect from 16-07-2026. Further you are informed that you are permanently disqualified to apply for employment in future in the Success group of education institutions,” read the termination order from the school’s principal.
The parents of the child reportedly questioned the school management over the matter and asked why students were compelled to participate in religious instruction that is contrary to their faith.
While sharing a video on social media, the child’s aunt claimed that similar entries were made in the child’s homework diary on earlier occasions as well before being struck off. She further claimed that when they questioned the school management over the issue, they initially termed it as mandatory religious practice for all students, however, later on they told them it was written by mistake.
The family has demanded strict action against the school from the Education Department.
Soon after, the matter took a political turn, with several BJP leaders in the state visiting the family and demanding strict action. They have called for a detailed investigation into the institution’s functioning.
Police officials said that investigation into the matter is currently underway and noted that the concerned classroom has 25 students. Among them, only one is a Hindu.
