“It is Rahul Gandhi’s policy to lie, lie aloud repeatedly. He has started a new tradition of telling lies every day. But the people have identified him as a lie-manufacturing factory,” Shah fumed while addressing a rally in Karaikal in the poll-bound Union Territory of Puducherry.
Making her first official visit after assuming office, Amarasuriya, who had her graduation in New Delhi’s Hindu College, is on a three-day state visit to India from October 16 to 18.
Shah further noted that the fishing community has suffered the most since their villages were washed away by the sea, due to which thousands of families had to migrate in search of employment.
"The Government of India attaches high priority to the issue of Indian fishermen and civilian prisoners in Pakistan’s custody and has urged the Government of Pakistan to expedite the release and repatriation of all Indian prisoners, including fishermen who remain in Pakistan’s custody," the MEA said in a statement.
They demand permanent solution to the issue.
India, on Tuesday, lodged a strong protest with Sri Lanka over an incident of firing by the Sri Lankan Navy during the apprehension of 13 Indian fishermen in the proximity of Delft Island in the early hours of this morning.
A Jain sculpture of Tirthankaras (teaching gods) was recovered from the Shilavati riverbed here by the local fishermen and has been stored in the custody of the district collector's treasury in Khatra.
