Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday led the nation in paying homage to Dr Rajendra Prasad, India's first President, on his 141st birth anniversary. The Prime Minister underscored Dr Prasad's immense contributions, from his role in the freedom struggle to his exemplary service as the country's first head of state.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by initiating the observance of Constitution Day, has helped enhance public awareness and appreciation of democratic values.
The Chief Minister said that Dr Prasad was a great freedom fighter, who joined the independence movement under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and provided leadership at every step of the movement.
He led his life based on his humble lifestyle and supreme vision and that will always inspire the people of India.
