The common man in Uttar Pradesh, already grappling with inflation, cooking gas shortages, and increased milk prices, received yet another blow as petrol, diesel, and CNG prices in the state increased starting Friday morning.
India’s state-run oil companies have raised petrol and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre nationwide, pushing fuel costs higher across major cities amid rising crude oil pressures.
The Government has said that citizens are encouraged to use alternate fuels such as PNG and electric or induction cooktops.

Notably, fuel prices have been steady for the past one-and-a-half months.
In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol continued to be priced at Rs 109.98 a litre and diesel Rs 94.14 a litre.

Petrol and diesel prices increased again on Wednesday after a two-day break as global oil prices failed to relent and continued to remain firm.
With no change in the prices, the pump price of petrol in Delhi stood at Rs 107.59 a litre, while diesel rates also remained at Sunday's level of Rs 96.32 a litre, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.
