Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat messages, leading to evacuations and security checks. Authorities said no suspicious items were found, and investigations are ongoing.
The conference, held on 16 January in the school auditorium, highlighted that “people-led participation in river conservation, pollution abatement and long-term ecological restoration” was the need of the hour.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Delhi school, Gupta called the Disaster Ready Schools Campaign a very important step, the Delhi government will work in this direction very carefully.
The occasion was graced by the Members of the Managing Boards of DK and Pusa Road, Springdales Education Society, and Old Springdalian Association, who shared their fond association with the great visionary and pioneer in the field of education.
The affected schools include Andhra School in Prasad Nagar, CRPF School in Dwarka, Sant Darshan Public School in Najafgarh, and Shanti Gyan Niketan in Goyla Dairy.
Several institutions, including Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, received threats.
According to the Delhi Police, the schools received calls regarding the bomb threats between 6:35 am and 7:48 am.
Sood noted that flooding of schools has been a recurring problem and asked officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC), and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to work on a permanent solution. He said the plan should be implemented in phases to address all aspects of inundation.
In a statement issued here today, Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta stated that the third session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly had concluded.
