V K Saxena discussed waterlogging and traffic issues in the national capital with the Union home minister. .
Today’s function was organised by the Services Department of Government of NCT of Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan here.
Describing it unconstitutional, the Delhi government in its petition has said that the ordinance takes away the power from an elected government and vests it in an unelected Lieutenant Governor – a Centre’s appointee.
The chief minister said that the lieutenant governor as an "outsider" should not insult "hardworking" people of Delhi.
Delhi needed to be fully prepared to handle any disaster and preparations to this effect should be put in place from today itself, V K Saxena said.
V K Saxena directed the panel to submit its recommendations within a month, an official statement from the LG office said.
"He (the LG) is told that it is your job to oppress the people of this tribe. We have seen in movies that the chieftain of the clan obeys his elder chieftain to please him," the deputy chief minister said in the Delhi Assembly.
