Calling the opening of the facility a landmark step for public health, Singh said that it will significantly support doctors, professors, researchers, and medical students in addressing multiple healthcare challenges using modern healthcare technology.
The minister has also directed checks on packaged drinking water, chain of sweet shops for compliance with quality standards.
The tissue bank, set up in the Department of Periodontology, will provide patients needing tissue or bone grafts direct access at the institute.
He noted that drug use through shared needles and syringes has contributed to the spread of HIV and called for a united resolve to end discrimination against people living with the virus.
Speaking at the event, Singh said, "These are not just machines – they are smart AI tools that can quickly detect dental issues with high accuracy.”
