Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called on global maritime players to partner with India’s rapidly expanding shipbuilding industry, stressing that the nation’s shipyards, capable of delivering everything from aircraft carriers to research vessels, are poised to become a global hub for shipbuilding, ship repair, and maritime innovation.
The four DPSUs – Munitions India Limited (MIL), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), India Optel Limited (IOL), and Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) – were also felicitated on being granted Miniratna (Category-I) status.
“The effective use of Made-in-India equipment by the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor bolstered India’s reputation both regionally and internationally,” Singh said.
“In all this, India while advocating for the reformation of outdated international structures, stands strong in upholding the international rules-based order,” he said.
He commended the Prime Minister for transforming India’s global image to an assertor from a mere listener, stating that the world now keenly listens to New Delhi.
In his address, Singh paid tributes to the valiant soldiers of the Armed Forces whose sacrifice and unwavering commitment keep the country safe from those who try to cast an evil eye.

India is the only country that has given the message of peace to the whole world and its military is respected across the globe for its bravery, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Defence Minister called “for a balance between 'justice delayed is justice denied’ and ‘justice hurried is justice buried’ to ease the burden of pendency on the judicial system in general and the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) in particular.”
