Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called on global maritime players to partner with India’s rapidly expanding shipbuilding industry, stressing that the nation’s shipyards, capable of delivering everything from aircraft carriers to research vessels, are poised to become a global hub for shipbuilding, ship repair, and maritime innovation.
The four DPSUs – Munitions India Limited (MIL), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), India Optel Limited (IOL), and Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) – were also felicitated on being granted Miniratna (Category-I) status.
“The effective use of Made-in-India equipment by the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor bolstered India’s reputation both regionally and internationally,” Singh said.
“In all this, India while advocating for the reformation of outdated international structures, stands strong in upholding the international rules-based order,” he said.
