Actress-filmmaker and MP Kangana Ranaut on Friday shared that her film “Emergency” has been postponed yet again as she still awaits certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Amid the controversy around Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency,' the censor board is yet to greenlight the release, causing a postponement.
Lodging his complaint, the actor-director has issued a strongly worded statement and appealed to immediately crack down on this whole corruption scandal.
Controversy arose after a section of social media objected to scenes in the film's title song that shows saffron-clad sadhus dancing with guitars.
The celebrities in this new letter include Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Prasoon Joshi, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar and Vivek Agnihotri among others.
Earlier, members of the Indian Pyschiatric Society ( IPS) had written a letter to the CBFC seeking a change in the title of the film.
The PIL has also alleged that the content of several show on OTT platforms violates provisions of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) and the Information Technology Act.
