Just a day after the nation marked his 92nd birth anniversary, a historic resolution seeking the Bharat Ratna for eminent social reformer and political leader Babu Kanshi Ram was unanimously passed by the Punjab Legislative Assembly on Monday.
Mayawati, however, has accused the Congress of never respecting Dalit icons, alleging that the Bharat Ratna demand is an attempt to weaken the BSP.

Addressing gatherings at separate functions, Modi congratulated BJP's veteran leader Advani for the highest civilian award.
Advani will be conferred with Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
