The decision to honour former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani with Bharat Ratna bears testimony to the fact that the country never forgets those who dedicate their lives in its service, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Odisha’s Sambalpur town on Saturday.
Addressing gatherings at separate functions, Modi congratulated BJP’s veteran leader Advani for the highest civilian award.
“Today, the country has also decided to award the Bharat Ratna to one of its great sons, former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani. As India’s Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister and Minister of Information and Broadcasting, and for decades as a loyal and conscientious Member of the Parliament, Advani ji’s service to the country is unparalleled”, Modi said.

The honour bestowed on Advani ji corroborates the fact that the nation never forgets those who dedicated their lives in the service of the nation. It was my good fortune that Lal Krishna Advani ji’s affection and guidance continued to guide me. I wish honorable Advani ji a long life and congratulate him on behalf of all the countrymen from this great land of Odisha, Modi concluded.
