Former Karnataka CM Yediyurappa flies off to Maldives

Yediyurappa has announced that after the Ganesh Chaturthi he would take up a tour of the state to strengthen the party keeping in mind the next assembly elections. The tour will begin from the constituencies in which BJP has suffered defeat, Yediyurappa had stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief J.P. Nadda, Union Ministers Amith Shah, Rajnath Singh, National Organising Secretary B.L. Santhosh, and Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh are expected to hold a party parliamentary board meeting to discuss the new leadership in Karnataka. It is said that the new CM will take an oath by Thursday.

Yediyurappa tweeted that his decision to step down was his own. Speaking after his visit to the Raj Bhawan, the Interim Chief Minister stated that he voluntarily took the decision to step down from the post to make way for a new CM in the state.
