According to the data available, the government took the resolution to cover 1.16 crore families under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in the last five financial years and has so far benefited 68.92 lakh families from the scheme, achieving 59.01 percent of the target.
Hailing the government’s “Ayushman Bharat” initiative, the vice-president said 1.4 billion people are getting medical treatment at an affordable price.
More than 134 crore people across the country have benefitted from AB-HWCs, and more than 86.90 crore beneficiaries have been cumulatively screened for non-communicable diseases.
With the launch of the scheme Antyodaya families have been brought under the ambit of 'Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana' (AB-PMYAY).
