Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay will reach Ayodhya on September 5 by a special plane along with his wife, Tashi Doma, and some other officials.
The airport’s name, "Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham," pays homage to Maharishi Valmiki, the sage attributed the composing of the epic Ramayana, adding a cultural touch to the airport's identity.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath also accompanied PM Modi during the inauguration event.
The Airports Authority of India has developed the airport at a cost of Rs 350 crore.

"The government believes that there will be a huge tourist traffic -- both domestic and international -- in Ayodhya when the construction of grand Ram temple is completed. The airport will further facilitate this," said an official spokesman.
