The state government is to start a survey to provide houses to 11 lakh people under Awas Yojana from July.
The team visited houses of several people in Charianantapur and Kamarpur villages of Kaliachak-III block, who have said that they were deprived of the houses under the scheme, despite the fact that they had applied for the same.
We have demanded that the District Magistrate take strong action against such misappropriation of funds and cut money,” the Secretary of the North Dinajpur CPI (M) committee, Anowarul Hoque, said.
"Since 2014, our government has approved the construction of more than 1 crore 13 lakh houses in cities under PM Awas Yojana. Out of this, more than 50 lakh houses have been built and handed over to the poor," he said.
