The attacks on human rights organizations, activists and human rights defenders are only an extension of the various repressive policies and sustained assault by the government on those who speak truth to power, it said.
Director of Amnesty International India, Avinash Kumar called the incident 'another example of how the right to dissent is being increasingly criminalised in the country.'
None of the attacks have been claimed but Washington has repeatedly blamed Iran-backed military factions in Iraq.

'Over the past year, a pattern of harassment has emerged every time Amnesty India stands up and speaks out against human rights violations in India,' said Amnesty in a statement.
Amnesty India's offices in Bengaluru were also raided by the ED last year in October over an alleged violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.
