The Monsoon Session opened with sharp political exchanges as the Samajwadi Party intensified its attack over alleged NEET irregularities and demanded stronger safeguards for competitive exams.
Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, addressing students and parents of the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, said, "We are all fully with the youth and their parents in their campaign to save Jauhar University."
"The BJP's negative ideology is one of 'conflict'; not dialogue. The BJP has become synonymous with despair. It's not the BJP government--it's arrogance!" Akhilesh Yadav said.
Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling it a "party of thugs" and claiming that the people of the state will wipe it out in the 2027 Assembly elections.
"People's votes have been looted. The upcoming election is very important, and this is once again the election of freedom. It is an election to save the constitution and rights of the people of the country," he said.
She said that just as her husband was murdered in public and the Samajwadi Party protected the criminals, she is now being threatened and could also be murdered. "If I am also murdered, the real culprit will be Akhilesh Yadav," she added.
Addressing the leaders and workers from various districts of the state at the party's state headquarters here on Friday, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP is deleting their names from electoral rolls so that they could not cast their votes.
In response, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar denied the allegations, stating that the Commission had not received any affidavits from either Uttar Pradesh or Yadav.
While he didn’t name anyone, his comment was directed towards the BJP’s stand on different issues, including irregularities in the electoral rolls.
