The AAIB on early Saturday released its 15-page preliminary report of the probe into the tragic Air India plane crash resulting in the deaths of 260 individuals, including 229 passengers, 12 crew members, and 19 people on the ground in Ahmedabad on June 12.
In a statement issued on X, the airline said that it was fully cooperating with the AAIB and other authroties as the investigating into the crash progresses.
Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu on Friday indicated that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's (AAIB) preliminary investigation report on the Air India Flight AI-171 crash in Ahmedabad on June 12 is likely to come out very soon.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation said following the unfortunate accident involving Air India Flight AI-171, the AAIB promptly initiated an investigation and constituted a multidisciplinary team on 13 June 2025, in line with prescribed norms.
K Rammohan Naidu dismissed reports that the black box has been sent abroad as speculation.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation said the AAIB has commenced a formal inquiry into the Air India flight crash near Ahmedabad adding that a multi-disciplinary team from the AAIB has commenced investigation from June 12.
The CVR captures audio from the cockpit, including pilot conversations, alarms and ambient sounds.
He informed that the Government has formed a high-level multi-disciplinary committee to probe the AI-171 crash and review SOPs.
