To facilitate cricket fans travelling to witness the final, the airline will operate additional flights to Ahmedabad from Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
"From 5 to 11 March, we’re operating 3 additional flights between Delhi and Toronto. From 7 to 10 March, we’ve added three flights between Delhi and Frankfurt, and one flight between Delhi and Paris (Charles de Gaulle)," Air India said in a statement.
As of Sunday, airlines across regions have been forced to cancel or reroute flights after emergency safety restrictions were imposed on key air corridors.
An Air India Express pilot accused of assaulting a passenger at Delhi’s IGI Airport was arrested and released on bail, with police examining CCTV footage and recording statements.
The protesting cabin crew members claimed that despite promises of job security, salary preservation, and recognition of seniority and expertise, there has been a noticeable deviation from these assurances.
The ministry also emphasized the situation’s urgency and called for a prompt resolution to minimize passenger inconvenience.
Sources said the senior employees, including the cabin crew, are unhappy with the changes.
