A weaker quarter from Accenture and a cut in growth guidance have raised concerns about delayed client spending and slower deal momentum for Indian IT companies heading into FY27.
The Nifty IT index slumped over 6 per cent after Accenture lowered its FY26 growth forecast and reported weaker bookings, triggering a broad-based sell-off in Indian technology stocks led by Infosys and TCS.
Microsoft and Accenture on Wednesday announced the third cohort of the Project Amplify programme, which will support 13 Indian startups with solutions focusing on clean tech, circularity, regenerative agriculture, education and skilling.
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), a centre of excellence recognised by the government, announced that it would join hands with certain corporates to create 10,000 women-led green businesses across 100 districts in the country in 1,000 days.
Umlaut's capabilities span traditional and digital engineering services; testing and validation of smart connected products; strategy, process and organizational consulting; and hardware product development as well as software development.
Driven by analytics based on AI and machine learning technologies, the IRIS platform will subsequently trigger automated alerts and actions, including rapid response to equipment failures or hazardous situations.
The acquisition adds approximately 1,350 cloud professionals to Accenture, the company had said in an earlier statement last month.
The two companies will also develop pre-engineered vertical industry solutions, including a platform to help telecommunications companies accelerate the rollout of 5G and edge computing services.
"Imaginea will further enhance the global capabilities of Accenture Cloud First, which was created to help clients across every industry become 'cloud-first' businesses," he added.
The acquisition will add nearly 50 data science and data engineering experts, with a particular focus on insight automation, to Accenture Applied Intelligence, the company said.
