A team from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) visited Ms Josymol P Jose at her home in Kumarakam, Kottayam district in Kerala, the same day and got her Aadhaar number generated.
Union Ministry of Home Affairs made the declaration in this regard in a notification issued on Wednesday
The number of face authentication transactions is on an upward trajectory and the monthly numbers clocked in May is an increase of 38 per cent, compared with such transactions reported in January 2023, indicative of its growing usage.
The facility can be availed under the ‘Verify email/mobile Number’ feature on the official website (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/) or through mAadhaar App.

The website of UIADI, under a webpage called “Aadhaar myth busters” states quite explicitly, for instance, that an Aadhaar card is not mandatory for getting a mobile SIM
The bench noted that Aadhaar card is not the only ID which is accepted by the concerned authorities.
The Authority may prescribe procedure to archive and perform analysis, for research purposes, from aggregated and anonymised authentication transaction data in the form of circulars.
