India’s badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are likely to tie the knot by the end of this year.
As per a report published in Times of India, the wedding will take place on December 16 and it will be a closed affair, attended by about 100 people. The wedding will be followed by a grand reception on December 21.
“Both families had been planning the wedding for a while. They have now finalised the date. The arrangements are all for December 16,” a source was quoted as saying to TOI.

Both Sania Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have been training under Pullela Gopichand since 2005. Though both Saina and Kashyap have time and again refuted rumours of a romance, they had been reportedly dating for the past decade.
Saina Nehwal is the first Indian shuttler to clinch a bronze medal in Olympics Games. Nehwal is also the only female Indian shuttler to achieve number one ranking in BWF. Saina Nehwal, who is currently playing in the Korea Open, has won 20 major titles, including a silver medal at the World Championships.
Parupalli Kashyap, who won Commonwealth Games gold medal in 2014, too has been a force to reckon with, having reached the highs of a World No. 6 ranking in 2013 before injuries slowed down his rise in the men’s circuit.
Earlier, after winning her second gold medal in Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Saina Nehwal had spoken about Kashyap’s role in motivating her.
