Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan, which is observed by the Muslim community around the world. Eid is a joyous occasion during which various delectable dishes are prepared.

The feast on Eid-ul-Fitr has a special significance since it marks the first day of Shawwal – the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

Eid is not celebrated around the world at the same time because it is based on the sighting of the moon. So, Eid is celebrated depending on when the local Islamic religious authorities see the new moon.
