Three youth from Jammu-Kashmir, two of whom went missing on 22 July, are suspected to have joined terrorist ranks.

Police are investigating the trying to trace the three youth, two of whom hail from Pulwama and one from Kulgam in south Kashmir.

The youth have been identified as Naveed Ahmad Bhat of Kulgam, and Ishfaq Wani and Yousuf Wani of Pulwama.

A photo of Ishfaq Wani brandishing a rifle had recently gone viral on the social media. Ishfaq who has done his MBA, went missing from his home on 22 July.

In a separate case, the police are trying to trace a Class 11 student identified as Muzamil Bhat, who had gone missing on 22 July from another village in Pulwama.

Reports of a couple of youth having joined terrorism in the Kishtwar and Doda districts of Jammu division had appeared last month.

Army, CRPF and J-K police personnel have been trying to persuade parents of the vulnerable areas to keep an eye on their wards and bring them for counselling in case they displayed an inclination towards militancy.

The security forces have set up special counselling centres for this purpose.
