In a midnight reshuffle of top police set-up, ADGP (Prisons) Dilbagh Singh has been appointed DGP of the Jammu and Kashmir Police replacing Shesh Paul Vaid.
Vaid has been posted as DG Transport, which can be called an insignificant post.
B Srinivas on his repatriation from central deputation has been appointed ADGP, CID.
It is learnt that removal of Vaid as DGP was planned last week as the Centre was annoyed over the swapping of the father of a top terrorist and three other militants with 14 close relatives of policemen abducted by terrorists in South Kashmir last month.
