Suspended AAP Rajya Sabha Member Sanjay Singh, who was recently re-elected to the Upper House, will be able to take oath as member only after the House Privileges Committee submits report on his suspension and the House decides to revoke his suspension.

On 11 August, 2023, the Upper House passed an order that Mr Sanjay Singh will remain suspended till the Privileges Committee gives a report and the House takes a decision on that report.

The Privileges Committee is yet to submit its report. Even a meeting of the Privileges Committee has not been scheduled yet, according to sources.

If the suspension is revoked, then the Rajya Sabha Secretariat will issue summons to him to come and take oath. Then he will be administered oath as a Rajya Sabha member. So far, no summons have been issued to him, sources clarified.
