Stage set for tomorrow’s polling in high profile Udhampur LS seat amid high security
Jammu and Kashmir has five Lok Sabha constituencies and each one will go to polls in separate phases because of security reasons.
Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Assembly was rocked by protest as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers raised anti-Pakistan slogans after two Indian soldiers were killed in an terror attack at Sunjuwan Military Station on Saturday.
Following the disruptions, the House was adjourned for 15 minutes and the proceedings were resumed later.
Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta on Saturday said that Rohingya Muslim camps near the Sujuwan Military Station pose a threat to the security forces. He also alleged that there is a drug mafia operating from the Rohingya camps in the area.

Two Indian Army soldiers lost their lives, in a fidayeen attack believed to be carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists, on the Sunjuwan Military Station in Jammu even as IAF para commandos from Udhampur have been called in to flush out the holed up terrorists.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is closely monitoring the situation.
The two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO) succumbed to injuries sustained after the group of four to five heavily armed militants hurled grenades and fired indiscriminately with automatic weapons while entering from the rear side of Sunjuwan Military Station where family quarters are located, police said.
At least seven people, including an Army personnel’s daughter, are injured in the attack, officials said.
Amidst a fierce gunbattle to neutralize the cornered militants, para commandos of the Indian Air Force (IAF) have been airlifted to Jammu from Udhampur and Sarsawa, officials said.
Schools in the entire area around the camp have been closed by authorities as a precautionary measure. A high alert has been sounded in Jammu and security beefed up in and around the city.
