“India’s flag being hoisted at the International Space Station is a moment of pride for every Indian. All MPs and the countrymen in one voice will glorify this feat. It will be an inspiration for our future missions,” he said, hailing Shubhanshu Shukla’s achievement. Shukla, an Indian astronaut, along with three others, returned recently from a successful space mission.
Modi stated that in Operation Sindoor, Indian soldiers achieved their objective with 100 per cent success, demolishing the masterminds behind terrorism in their hideouts within 22 minutes.
PM Modi also praised all-party delegations that visited several countries to expose Pakistan’s role in terrorism, creating a positive atmosphere in the country.
Calling Pakistan the “mastermind of terrorism,” Modi praised the all-party delegations that visited several countries as part of India’s global outreach following Operation Sindoor.
“The brutal atrocities and the massacre in Pahalgam have shaken the entire world. Keeping party interests aside, in the interest of the country, representatives of most of our parties went to many countries of the world and, in one voice, ran a very successful campaign to expose Pakistan before the world. I want to appreciate all those MPs, and I want to appreciate all the parties for this important work done in the national interest, and this has created a positive atmosphere in the country,” he said.
Highlighting India’s economic strides, Modi noted that inflation dropped from double digits pre-2014 to around 2 per cent, benefiting common people. About 25 crore poor people have come out of poverty, he stated.
Referring to a report of the WHO, which has declared India a trachoma-free nation, PM Modi said that trachoma is a disease of the eye caused by infection with the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. It is a public health problem in 32 countries and is responsible for the blindness or visual impairment of about 1.9 million people, as per WHO.
PM Modi also said that the monsoon brings innovation and new creation, boosting agriculture, rural economy, and every Indian household’s economy.
“Good rainfall means a boost for agriculture, the rural economy, and the economy of every Indian household. Positive signs for farmers and Bharat’s economic momentum,” he said.
“The Monsoon Session stands as a proud moment for the nation, a true celebration of our collective achievements,” he added.
Claiming that India has endured many violent challenges, he said, “Be it terrorism or Naxalism, but today, the influence of Naxalism and Maoism is shrinking rapidly. The Constitution prevails over bombs and guns. The red corridors of the past are now transforming into green zones of growth and development.”
The Monsoon Session of Parliament started today, July 21, and will run until August 21, with debates expected to be heated between the BJP-led government and opposition parties.
