The Indian Army has busted another narco-terrorism module in the border area of Naushera and recovered two sophisticated pistols, 2 kgs narcotics and a 2 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Defence spokesman Lt Colonel Devender Anand said on Sunday that based on intelligence inputs, Indian Army conducted operations near the Line of Control (LOC) at Jhangar, Naushera on Saturday. The Operations led to recovery of two sophisticated Pistols, two kgs Narcotics and a two kg IED.
The operation has averted a major incident which could have been initiated by perpetrators using the weapons and the IED funded by the narco terrorists.
Security forces and J&K Police had few days ago in a major blow to Pakistan backed narco-terrorism in J&K and Punjab, recovered 7 kgs of heroine, about Rs.2 crores of cash and arms and ammunition from the house of a notorious drug peddler in the Poonch district of Jammu.
The peddler’s house is just near the Line of Control (LOC) and he was involved in narco-terrorism, police said.
Additional DGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh said that a pistol with a magzine , 10 rounds along with seven rounds of SLR were also recovered. The ADGP identified the peddler as Rafi Dhana, alias Rafi Lala. Rafi Dhana has been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
