Fraudsters with the help of an instant loan app allegedly extorted about Rs 3 lakh from a Delhi girl for Rs 2,000 loan amount, by blackmailing her of sending her morphed obscene photos to her family, friends, and relatives.

However, when the miscreants didn’t stop here and kept on demanding more money from the victim, she went to the police and made a complaint to the Cyber Police of Shahdara District. An investigation in the matter is being initiated by the police to nab the accused.

The 26-years-old victim, who lives with her family in the Old Seemapuri Area, does a private job. In her statement, she said two months ago she was in desperate need of money. This is when she received a link for the instant loan on her mobile.

The link was to apply for a loan of Rs 5,000, which was to be returned in 90 days. As she was in need of money, she clicked on the link to apply for the loan.

She gave all the required documents and completed all the formalities, but received only Rs. 2,000 as the loan amount. Not only this, the loan amount was started being demanded back just within few days.

She even started getting threats from different numbers for not paying back the money. They started blackmailing her to return Rs. 5000 immediately and if not done so, they threatened to send her family, friends, and relatives her nude photos.

In order to get rid of theses blackmailers, the victim some started paying back the demanded money. It is being alleged that over a period of two months, she was threatened and blackmailed for about Rs. 3 lakhs.

However, when the defrauders didn’t stop blackmailing her, the victim narrated her ordeal to her friends and with their help went on to register a case in this regard.

Further action in the matter is being taken.
