Rashtriya Lok Dal’s candidate Begum Tabassum filed her nomination papers on Wednesday, for by-election in Kairana Lok Sabha constituency, in the presence of RLD and Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders.
Tabaaaum is the joint candidate of the duo parties .
Before filing of the nomination the RLD and SP displayed a power show as many senior leaders turned up including RLD vice president Jayant Chaudhary.

Showing the solidarity of the alliance the RLD and SP leaders accompanied party candidate Tabassum to the office of district election officer to file nomination .
Samajwadi party’s MLC Sanjay Lathar, party leader Virendra Gujar, SP’s Kairana MLA Nahid Hasan, who is also Tabassum’s son, were present besides the district president of RLD Yogendra Jandheri and other leaders .
In his address to the gathering Jayant Chaudhary appealed to the masses to give a befitting reply to those who say that it is a riot affected area where Hindu and Muslims can’t sit together and urged the people to vote in favour of Tabassum .
Tabassum got the RLD ticket from Kairana shortly after the alliance was announced with SP for by-election on Kairana and Noorpur Lok Sabha seats . While, RLD supported by SP will contest from Kairana it would be reverse in Noorpur.
Tabassum is wife of late SP MP from Kairana Munawar Hasan. She was first elected MP from Kairana seat in 2009 on the ticket of BSP.
Speaking to media after filing her nomination Tabassum said that her priority would be to check exploitation of people and to ensure payment of sugarcane dues to farmers.
