One IAF soldier killed, five injured as terrorists ambush convoy in Poonch
The convoy has been secured, and further investigation is under progress, the IAF said.
It is learnt that two more terrorists are still hiding in the village and the search to nab them is on.
A militant was killed on Friday in a gunfight between the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.
The militant’s body was recovered from the gunfight area in Gandole village of Kokernag area.

“The encounter was going on in Kukernag area of Anantnag, reportedly presence of 2/3 terrorists, firing stopped , search is on,” Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu & Kashmir Shesh Paul Vaid tweeted.

Upon receiving a tip-off about the holed-up militants, the security forces earlier on Friday cordoned off the village.
“As the cordon was tightened, the militants fired at the security forces triggering the ongoing gunfight,” police sources said.
As a precautionary measure, authorities have suspended mobile internet services in the district.
Earlier today, Vaid had tweeted that some suspected associates have been detained for questioning.
“In continued offensive against terrorists, some suspected associates detained for questioning, 4 hideoutes identified, 2 destroyed, some increminating material seized,” DGP Vaid said in a tweet.
