Jammu and Kashmir: Army’s rescue operation in flood-hit Rajouri saves 11 civilians
Among the 11 rescued persons, five were children. They were stranded at different places in the flood-affected district following incessant rainfall.

An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forests of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
An Army official said security forces launched a search operation in the forest area of Trehgam in Kupwara following information about the presence of militants there.

He said one militant was killed in the exchange of firing between the two sides.

The identity and group affiliation of the slain militant was not known yet.
“The terrorist was killed in the encounter near Trehgam town at 5.30 am,” Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia told IANS.
“It was a specific operation based on intelligence inputs and the operation is now over,” Kalia added.
