Following fresh summons issued by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal, the party said on Wednesday it would take a decision in the matter in accordance with the law.

Currently, the party said their legal team was studying the Central probe agency’s notices to the Delhi chief minister in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

Speaking to the media, AAP’s chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar called the previous four summons issued in the name of Arvind Kejriwal illegal and said, “Now that we have received information with regard to the fifth summons the same would be studied and whatever is right as per the law will be done.”

This is the fifth time that the ED has sent a notice to Delhi CM asking him to join the investigation in connection with the liquor policy case and asked him to appear before the agency at their main office in Delhi on Friday, February 2.

So far, Kejriwal skipped the summons by the ED four times, on November 2, December 21, January 3, and January 18. However, he gave a written response to the previous summons by the federal probe agency.

The chief minister had earlier termed the summons as unsustainable in law and also politically motivated, while also questioning the basis of the notices calling them non-specific and asking in what capacity he was being called by the ED in the case.
