Elaborate security arrangements for President’s Fatehabad visit

Haryana Police has made elaborate security arrangements in view of the upcoming visit of the President, Ram Nath Kovind in Fatehabad on 15 July.

This was stated by Director General of Police (DGP), BS Sandhu, who along with additional chief secretary, home, SS Prasad visited Fatehabad on Wednesday to review the law and order and security arrangements in view of the visit of the President in the town.

Reviewing the security arrangements, the DGP said that all security arrangements had been put in place and five IPS officers would be deputed for tight security arrangements. Apart from the local police, senior police officers of Haryana Police and from the Centre would also remain on duty.

Sandhu and Prasad also visited helipad which is set up at sports stadium in BhodiaKhera and the new grain market in the town. Both the officers held a meeting with civil and police administration in the district and directed them accordingly.

The President, Kovind, will be chief guest in the 620th PrakatUtsav of SantShiromaniKabirSahebJi which is being organised at new grain market in Fatehabad.

Speaking to reporters, Sandhu said that 7000 constables would soon be recruited in Haryana Police to further strength the police force.

In addition, 463 Sub Inspectors including 63 female would also be recruited. On being asked to comment on drug abuse, he said that special awareness campaign would be carried out in the state including Fatehabad and Sirsa.

He said that now the widow or dependents of policemen who die in the line of duty would get special ex-gratia grant upto Rs 30 lakh.
