The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notice to the CBSE and the HRD ministry seeking their stand on a PIL for a court-monitored probe into the Class 10 and 12 examination paper leak.

The public interest litigation (PIL) filed in the court of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar was moved by the NGO Social Jurist and also sought the change in the proposed date of Class 10 Maths examination from July to April.

The court will next hear the matter on April 16.

The government on March 30 announced that re-examination will be held for Class 12 economics paper throughout the country on April 25 while fresh test for Class 10 maths paper will be held only in Delhi, NCR and Haryana in July.

Two teachers of a private Delhi school and a tutor at a private institute were arrested on Sunday over the paper leak even as one CBSE official found “lax” in the performance of duty was suspended from service.

Two accused Rishabh, 29, and Rohit, 26, taught mathematics and physics respectively at Mother Khazani Convent School at Bawana. The third accused is Tauqeer.

Human Resource Development Ministry Secretary Anil Swarup announced the suspension of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) official K.S. Rana and the institution of a formal inquiry against him.
