A bitter slug fest began between the BJP and BRS over a high court order transferring the MLA poaching case from the state government appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI).

While a the BJP has said that an attempt to throw dirt on BJP by the BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has backfired, the working president of BRS KT Rama Rao in turn asked Union minister G Kishan Reddy why they were gloating over the court order when they had claimed earlier that the BJP has no truck with the three accused in the MLA poaching case.

He pointed out that the BJP had approached the court multiple times over the SIT inquiry. He said that while in the Congress regime CBI stood for Congress Bureau of Investigations now it stands for “Controlled BJP Investigations.” He challenged the minister if they were ready to conduct narco analysis and lie detector tests on the accused since those reports cannot be falsified.

Union minister G Kishan Reddy had earlier said that the chief minister tried to throw mud on the BJP through the poachgate but it has backfired on the BRS. He alleged that the “Farm House Files” was entirely scripted and produced by Rao by using the MLAs who had switched to BRS from Congress.

The high court transferred the case to CBI because there was no transparency in the investigation by the state police.

He also questioned why the MLAs involved in the poaching case were kept at Pragathi Bhavan, the camp office cum residence of the chief minister for several days. He also questioned the statement of BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy who had said that no money was seized by police when the chief minister said Rs 400 crore was offered. The Telangana High Court transferred the case to CBI quashing the order of the state government constituting the SIT but also dismissed BJP’s writ petition since it was the third party.
