BJP repeats all sitting MPs in 47 seats of UP, 4 new faces in lost seats

In the 2019 elections Shravasti, Ambedkar Nagar and Nagina seats were won by the BSP and Jaunpur by the SP candidates.

BJP repeats all sitting MPs in 47 seats of UP, 4 new faces in lost seats

Except for four seats, which the party lost in 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) announced 51 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, which included Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow.

The new candidates are Kripa Shanker Singh, former Congress leader of Maharashtra and former Home Minister of Maharashtra from Jaunpur, MLC Saket Mishra, son of retired bureaucrat Nripendra Mishra from Shravasti, former BSP MP Ritesh Mishra from Ambedkarnagar and Om Kumar from Nagina seat.

In the 2019 elections Shravasti, Ambedkar Nagar and Nagina seats were won by the BSP and Jaunpur by the SP candidates.

However in rest of 47 seats, all sitting BJP MPs were repeated which includes Hema Malani from Mathura, Union Minister Smriti Irani from Amethi, Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni from Lakhimpur, Dr Nagesh Sgatma from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur and Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Niruha from Azamgarh.
