Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that Bihar has become Naxal-free after 25 years due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also built infrastructure in every corner of Bihar, marking the beginning of a new era of development.
Addressing a public rally in Jamui, Shah said there was a time when the entire Jamui region was drenched in blood and red terror. This was where the Naxalites had set up their base and had control over the entire area.

“Gaya, Aurangabad, and Jamui were all under their dominance. It is because of Prime Minister Modi’s efforts that Naxalism has been eliminated from Bihar. There used to be districts in the state where voting ended by 3 pm due to Naxal threats. But now, since Naxalism has been eradicated, voting continues till 5 pm,” Shah said.
In a sharp attack on the RJD, he said that during the Lalu–Rabri regime, Bihar witnessed rampant kidnappings for ransom and massacres, with over 20 massacres taking place. He also alleged that this jungle raj (lawless rule) shut down Bihar’s industries and businesses and pushed the state into poverty.
Shah said, “But Nitish Kumar ended that jungle raj. In the past ten years, Prime Minister Modi has built infrastructure in every corner of Bihar — roads, bridges, power plants, sugar mills, ethanol and fertiliser factories — marking the beginning of a new era of development. The next five years will be dedicated to making Bihar a fully developed state.”
Referring to the first phase of polling held on Thursday, Shah said the people of Bihar have made it clear that the Lalu-Rahul alliance has been wiped out.
“The jungle raj is trying to return in a new disguise, with new clothes and a new face. But we will not let it come back. Even in Jamui, they shouldn’t be able to open their account. All four seats here must go to the NDA. If you make even the slightest mistake, if you move even a little away from the Lotus (BJP symbol) or the Arrow (JD(U) symbol), jungle raj will return,” he warned.
Addressing another public rally in Pirpainti, Shah said the NDA government has established the Makhana Board. Along with power plants, it has revived the Barauni factory and several sugar mills. He promised that wherever there is water, the Narendra Modi government will open 25 new sugar mills.
