The meeting, attended by Congress Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru and state party chief Rajesh Ram, addressed the reasons behind the party’s poor performance in the state.
His comments came in the aftermath of his daughter Rohini Acharya’s allegation that the blame for the RJD’s drubbing in the recently concluded Bihar polls is being pinned on her.
Basically, the Rs 10,000 strategy complemented Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s reputation for women-centric policymaking, scripting the historic outcome in a state where the BJP had previously played runner-up.
The saffron party sees the Bihar results as a morale booster ahead of next month's local body elections in Kerala and the Assembly elections to be held in April/ May next year.
The party alleged a lack of transparency and sought an explanation for the sudden increase.
BJP spokesperson Navnath Ban has criticised an editorial published in the Saturday edition of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena's Marathi daily 'Saamna', stating that the Bihar election result is merely a trailer of what will inevitably unfold after the Maharashtra local civic body election results are announced.
The setback in Bihar - where the Congress expected a revival but instead faced a major electoral blow - has reportedly prompted the party's central leadership to reinforce stability in states where it already enjoys a viable alliance structure.
Accusing Congress of indulging in negative politics, the prime minister said he apprehended another major split in the grand old party.
"This is a kind of 'vote chori' and was one of the deciding factors in the outcome of the assembly polls there," he remarked.
