Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled the name of ‘Seva Teerth’, the new building complex that will house the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and the Cabinet Secretariat.
The unveiling of the new building complex’s name marks the latest transformative step in the country’s administrative governance architecture, as it continues to move away from symbols of India’s colonial past.

The PM is later today, around 6 pm, is due to inaugurate the complex – Seva Teerth as well as Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2. The PM will also address a public programme at Seva Teerth today.
Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 will house many high-profile ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare and Education.
The new complex reflects a modern, efficient, accessible and citizen-centric governance ecosystem, as visualised by PM Modi.
Both building complexes boast of digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones and centralised reception facilities.
The complexes have been built and designed following 4-Star GRIHA standards and incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions and high-performance building envelopes.
“These measures significantly reduce environmental impact while enhancing operational efficiency. The building complexes also include comprehensive safety and security frameworks, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a secure and accessible environment for officials and visitors,” said an official statement.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused Rahul Gandhi of spreading panic and misinformation after the Congress leader claimed an "institutional revolt" was underway and predicted PM Modi would not remain in office for another year.
The actor told Modi that Peddi is about an evolved India and empowering villages. Modi responded by sharing a story from West Bengal about a footballer from a small village who went on to represent the country.
