The station is located close to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), and the renaming comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the new name ‘Seva Teerth’ for the building complex housing the PMO.
PM Modi said that the decisions taken at Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan will not reflect the wishes of any monarch; instead, they will be guided by the expectations of 140 crores of citizens.
The PMO is relocating from the British-era building in South Block to its new address, 'Seva Teerth'. The new state-of-the-art building has come up on the Kartavya Path, in the Centra Vista area.
Designed with digital integration and 4-Star GRIHA standards, Seva Teerth will house the PMO, National Security Council Secretariat, and Cabinet Secretariat, while Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2 will host key ministries.
