Katrina Kaif replaces Priyanka Chopra in Salman Khan’s Bharat

Following Priyanka Chopra’s departure from ‘Bharat, director Ali Abbas Zafar has roped in Katrina Kaif for the role.

“I am extremely excited to work with Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan once again for Bharat. We have had exciting collaborations in the past and it is very interesting to work with the duo once again. Katrina got on board in the Nick of time for the project and it is very delightful to work with the immensely talented actress yet again,” Ali said in a statement.

Priyanka who was earlier reported to be the leading lady opted out of the film last week  due to personal reasons, apparently her wedding with singer Nick Jonas.

Salman and Katrina has worked together in multiple films like Ek Tha Tiger, Partner, Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya and recently in Tiger Zinda Hai.

The film is scheduled to be released on Eid next year.

Bharat went on the floors earlier this month for its first schedule with Salman and actor Disha Patani. The film also casts Tabu, Disha Patani Nora Fatehi and Sunil Grover.

Ali had shared recently a sneak peek from the film that showed Salman entering a “ring of fire” on a bike in a circus.

The film is an adaptation of 2014 South Korean movie Ode To My Father.
