Bollywood actress Dia Mirza who was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, playing Maanyataa Dutt, is on cloud nine these days.

She remains in news for varied social causes and campaigns that she supports, and is now creating a buzz over an environmental issue.

Dia, a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador and the brand ambassador of Wildlife Trust of India, shared a happy news on her social media handle that a baby rhino (born at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy) has been named after her.

She tweeted, “Thank you @OlPejeta for naming this beautiful baby after me!!! It means the world to me. Thank you Richard, Hamid, Sarah, Elodie, Yaqoob and team for this privilege 🏻🦏 Visit #OlPejetaConservancy, take a pic with Dia and tag me! Win for the wild with @airarabiagroup :)”

In 2010, Dia Mirza had adopted two leopard cubs from the Lucknow Zoo named them Ashoka and Nakshatra. She had been requested by the zoo authorities to do so as the mother of the cubs was also named Dia.

Mirza is known for lending her support to many environmental and social causes and has been recognised by the UN for her contribution to environmental conservation, along with global celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, Katy Perry, Cate Blanchett, and Emma Watson.
