“Working in Dupur Thakurpo was scary, nervous and hilarious,” said Swastika Chatterjee at the launch of the new episodes of the web series. The series stars Chatterjee in the main role as Uma boudi and her six brother-in-laws are played by Anindya Chatterjee, Apratim Chatterjee, Indrajit Mazumdar, Kartikey Tripaithi, Soumedra Bhattacharya and Taufeeq Ahmed.
Dupur Thakurpo is Tollywood’s first adventure into the lands of the frisky but forbidden relationship of a boudi (sister-in-law) with her thakurpos (brother-in-laws).
In the movie, six men fight for the attention of Uma boudi. “At this point of my career I want to be more experimentative and working with new people is always great as they are producing vibrant contents promising full on entertainment,” said Chatterjee.

Dupur Thakurpo has received much appreciation. The first five episodes of this season are already out and are available on Hoichoi-movies. Addressing the moral policing around the first few episodes and the controversies related to it, the crew said, “People don’t subscribe to watch adult content, it is available for free. Social values and culture change with time and people tend to be judgemental about it. But from the feedback we received, more people are enjoying the series.” Releasing on 9 November, the second part of the series promises to keep the viewers hooked.
